Carnival of the Recipes: 174

Welcome everyone to the Carnival of the Recipes #174. I’m sorry this is a bit more disorderly than my posts normally are, but it’s Christmas Eve Downunder and – though it ought not touch me at all (since I’m Jewish) I’ve been invited to a friend’s place for the whole shebang, including a full day’s preparations. I’ve tried to make up for lack of editing time with some bad jokes. Think of them as fine seasoning, since I can’t plate the meal beautifully.

I believe the theme of today’s Carnival is “memories.” I was going to weave everything together in a lovely series of courses, but I have to go in a half hour. Maybe next time I host, I’ll do you some interlaced stories. In the meantime, happy rest-of-festive-season.

There is no such thing as too much salad, especially if you can find a wonderful dressing. My father used to complain that undressed salad was unsuitable for children, too):

And, saving the best for last, the Kosher Cooking Carnival. Why is it the best? Lots of amazing recipes, one of whom is by me. (Someone complained I was too modest the other day. I’m working on developing overweening attitude so they can scold me for that, instead.) Batya presents KCC #25 The Great Green One posted at me-ander.

PS If you want historical Christmas recipes, I’ve just down a whole series and there’ll be one more post tomorrow. By that time we will all be so festive’d out we shall never eat carrots again. Or was that turkey? Or Christmas pudding?
