Jane Austen recipes
I still have to email out some recipes (last week was *so* busy!). When we get enough test results from the first list, I’ll generate a second list, so this is not the end of the fun, just the beginning. And for anyone living in Canberra, the Conflux chair has decided that sometime next year there will be a recipe-testing party where we all bring dishes.
For people who are interested in joining the testathon now but haven’t quite made their mind up, these are the recipes you can choose from. If you emailed me asking for one and it’s still on the list, then would you mind asking again, as I must have missed the email.
Summer pease soup
Onion soup
Roast ribs of beef
Dressed breast of lamb
A fine cake
Chicken baskets
Marmalett of Aprecocks
Ice-cream
A Trifle

I’ll go for the gingerbread cake & a pretty dish of eggs if they’re still going begging - they should work as a crossover.
The others are tempting too, but I’ll see how I go with 2.

Excellent. Thank you. I’ll email everyone tomorrow and send out a batch of recipes :).

I was going to offer to do the gingerbread cake, but only after I move. But it’s already taken. (My oven doesn’t like to turn off, so I avoid turning it on)

I can tell you which recipes don’t need an oven if you want, Emma. But if you’d rather wait till after you move, there will be more recipes - this is only the list from the first source. I intend to keep testing till I have a good menu because having a good starting menu was how we did so well with the hotel negotiations this year. I am full of cliches today, so I’ll say “Watch this space” after you move and have more flexibility with what you can cook.

I know I’m a little behind, but I love, love, love Jane Austen and, therefore, would love to join in. Are chicken baskets taken? Or trifle?

Both chicken baskets and trifle are still available (I’ve been modifying the list as things get taken, so the initial list I posted is complete and the second list shows what’s still available). Do you want to do both, or would you rather do just one? Let me know and I’ll email them to you.

I’m intrigued by baskets, so that will be my wish.
